Four Days of Freedom - The Cape Wrath Project

A Celebration of Running, Escape and Nature

It’s been a really challenging time being locked down with the pandemic and having no opportunity to do the things we love in the places that we love. On Monday 26th April the lockdown is lifting in Scotland and we wanted to get back out there and take on something bold in some of Scotland’s wildest and most beautiful areas.

Paul Giblin and Graham Connolly will attempt to run the entire 230-mile Cape Wrath Trail from North to South in just 4 days. Both have previously spent some time on the trail together when the team ran the 530-mile Scottish National Trail in winter, as part of their Endeavour Project.

“We know how brutal it is out there, especially underfoot - there isn’t much trail for a lot of it! We are hoping to complete this celebration of Freedom, in 4 days. It’s very ambitious as we still expect cold and wet conditions for much of it. This hopefully marks the return to adventure and racing again.” (Paul Giblin)

“It’s an enormous challenge. Navigation, very little trail and no easy way to back out. It’s big, but it feels like an authentic challenge that moves me in the right direction - towards the type of ultra runner I want to be” (Graham Connolly)
