Run with Pyllon

A SERIES OF ONE DAY EVENTS

‘Run with Pyllon’ is an on-going series of short events from the same team who brought you the legendary Pyllon XP weekend training camps.

These special one-day events will be more than just a run with some great people. Each event will be focused on a particular topic or route. Everything we do has a purpose and our ‘Run with Pyllon’ events will be no different. From our experience coaching hundreds of athletes we know how to help people to get the most out of their training, and maximum enjoyment from their running, whether new to the sport or an experienced athlete.

These events are a fast-track way of learning more about ultra and trail running, honing your preparation and finding the inspiration you need to take on bigger and bolder challenges. Connecting with like-minded people, doing the thing that you love helps you to build relationships that will last beyond any racing season.

In-between our conversations we will also be doing plenty of running - so you won’t have to sacrifice your weekend training.

oUR INAUGRAUL RUN WITH PYLLON EVENT WAS A HUGE SUCCESS!

Our inaugural ‘Run with Pyllon’ event took place in Aviemore and focussed on ENDURANCE. Here are some testimonials from the participants:

Totally awesome and inspiring people, they made it feel that if you believe in yourself and with the right guidance you can achieve great things”

“This event completely changed my mindset and was a huge contributing factor to getting me through my 24 hour race”

“Since this Pyllon event I have ran my first ever 24 hour race at Glenmore24. I surprised myself by achieving 101 miles which was well beyond my expectations. I genuinely believe I would not have achieved this without attending Run With Pyllon - the information and guidance I obtained from the event and coaches totally changed my mindset and race strategy. It has genuinely helped to improve my overall running. Thank you!!!”

“Run with Pyllon helped me to manage my mindset, fuelling and pacing during my 24 hour race, I finished 5th in my race which I never thought would be possible”

UPCOMING EVENTS

Run with Pyllon - Mountain Day - Saturday 22nd October 2022 - Tyndrum

In our second ‘Run with Pyllon’ event we will be heading to Tyndrum for a day in the Scottish mountains with Pyllon coaches John Connolly and Grant MacDonald. In this event we will help you to:

  • Prepare for a day in the hills or mountain races

  • Learn about the basics of navigation

  • Plan and execute a running route

  • Prepare yourself with the mandatory kit for mountain/hill running

  • Develop a mindset for the mountains

  • Enjoy a day in the hills conquering some munros with confidence

You will have the chance to run for approximately 5-6 hours in the hills around Tyndrum.  This event will obviously be weather dependent, we will have a backup, low level, bad weather route but hopefully we won’t have to use it.

This event is particularly useful for people who would like to gain confidence and improve their knowledge of running in the hills, especially during the winter months. It will also be useful for those looking to extend their racing adventures towards multi-day events such as Cape Wrath.

In addition to the learning experiences during the event we will also be hosting a pre-event zoom tutorial on Wednesday 19th October at 7pm. In this tutorial we will prepare you with some of the basics to ensure that you gain maximum benefit from the day. A member of the Scottish Mountain Rescue team will be co-hosting this tutorial with our Pyllon coaches to provide you with the knowledge needed to safely navigate your way through days in the hills.

The event will be based at the Artisan Cafe just outside Tyndrum, where we will do our initial welcome and coffee. We will return there after our run for late lunch, a change of clothes and debrief conversation.
